Training means a lot of things, from listening to employees to helping them set personal goals or understand the company’s goals. When employees understand business goals, they can make their own decisions without waiting for others to tell them what to do.When employees are listened to, they feel valued and empowered. They have greater autonomy and commitment to actions they deem necessary.

 

The coach also turned some underachievers into stars. For example, an employee described as “very insecure” developed enough confidence to apply for a promotion and become an effective manager. Train employees to identify solutions by providing advice and expertise as needed. A coach is a conversation between two or more people to find a way forward together. Participants reflect on the current situation, agree on a goal, and identify options and actions to move toward that goal.

 

 

In practice, managers should do four things during training:

 

  1. Listen to your employees and set aside time to think aloud and come up with your own ideas.
  2. Ask questions that help employees develop their thinking. If an employee finds a problem, the manager can ask them what solutions they can come up with.
  3. Set goals with employees. Create a dynamic dialogue that makes the task more than just checkboxes.
  4. Provide constructive feedback to help employees align with organizational goals and professional development.

 

 

Training brings unexpected results to employees, organizations and managers themselves. Those who believe their managers and organizations care about their employees by investing time in mentoring them will naturally be more active and happy at work. They are great team members. Their skills have improved and they’ve been promoted.

 

 

Most importantly, it will affect the treatment of customers. Treat your employees well and they will treat your customers well. Then your business is booming. If managers don’t know where to start, they should start by listening to employees. They may be surprised at how much employees know and how grateful they are to be asked. One of the biggest rewards for a leader is seeing their employees grow. Guidance is a practical way to do this.
