On July 16, 2024, the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, Kedah held a half day team-building event at the Grand Baron Hotel in Taiping, organized by Leadway Consultancy (M) Sdn Bhd. The evening started with a simple opening speech outlining the activities ahead. The evening featured engaging activities designed to help attendees get to know each other better. Attendees were divided into groups, each creating a unique slogan and posture to represent their team.
Following this, participants were tasked with designing their own group poster with their group name, and defining their group’s vision and mission. One of the highlights of the event was the Marshmallow Challenge, where all the group members has built structures using spaghetti, tape, string, and a marshmallow, promoting teamwork and creativity. The event continued with the Team Pen session, a team-building activity that emphasized communication, trust, and unity. This session concluded with the fastest team to complete the writing task and the team with the neatest work.
The benefits of such team-building activities are extensive. They enhance communication, improve collaboration, build trust, boost morale, and develop problem-solving skills. Moreover, they help the participants to form stronger connections and identify both individual and team strengths and weaknesses. The event was a resounding success, leaving participants energized and more connected, better prepared to face future challenges together.
