Our Principal Consultant conducted a site visit at Teluk Intan, Perak, in his capacity as Principal Construction Work Designer (PCWD), in accordance with the requirements of Malaysia’s Occupational Safety and Health (Construction Work) Regulations 2024 (CWDM 2024) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994).

The visit focused on reviewing construction progress and verifying the implementation of design risk management and safety-by-design principles, as well as ensuring that safety, health, and compliance measures were effectively applied on site. Key areas of assessment included Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), adequacy of risk mitigation measures, coordination among duty holders, and alignment with relevant DOSH guidelines, CIDB requirements, and applicable subsidiary regulations.

As part of the PCWD’s statutory duties, emphasis was placed on ensuring that foreseeable risks arising from design and construction activities are identified, eliminated, or reduced at source, supporting safer outcomes during construction, operation, maintenance, and future works.
